News: Ben Rodgers verlässt Tellus Requiem!

Heute hat Ben Rodgers, der Sänger von Tellus Requiem, folgende Nachricht bei Facebook gepostet:

„My days in Tellus Requiem is now officially over. I would like to thank all of you that bought our Invictus album, came and supported us at the live shows around Norway and Europe and everyone for your kind words and support along the way. Further on I sincerely hope that all you guys will follow my continuing journey in the world of music. I have started working on a solo album and hopefully I will see you on the road not too long from now.

Kurz darauf folgte die offizielle Bekanntgabe der Band:

„Attention! We're sorry to inform you that the band has decided to end the co-operation with now former singer Ben Rodgers with imidiate action. We've had some fun times on the road and share some great memories together! But due to personal reasons we now choose to go on further without him.

A replacement is already set and the band continues the work towards the new album. And we will be sharing stage with our great friends in Kamelot this Saturday! We can't wait to show his epic skills!

Rodgers war bereits der dritte Sänger der proggressiven Metaler. Nachdem sein Vorgänger kurz vor Fertigstellung des zweiten Studioalbums wegen künstlerischer Differenzen abgesprungen war, wurde Ben nach einer langen Suche zufällig im „Pub next door“ entdeckt. Stimmlich ein klarer Gewinn für die Band, hat er das Album „Invictus [the 11th Hour]“ (meine Review unter http://www.metal-trails.com/reviews/tellus-requiem/2013/invictus-the-11th-hour.html), welches im Januar 2013 erschien, entschieden mitgeprägt und nachträglich bereichert. Letztes Jahr ging es dann gemeinsam mit ReVamp auf die Kamelot-Silverthorn-Tour. Dort habe ich die Band dann auch zum ersten Mal gesehen und war äußerst angetan von den fünf Musikern – sowohl in Hamburg als auch in Bochum.

So schade es auch ist, dass diese musikalisch ergiebige Konstellation nun auseinander geht, so sehr wünsche ich sowohl Tellus Requiem als auch Ben Rodgers weiterhin alles Gute auf ihren Wegen. Es wird sich zeigen, inwieweit der neue Sänger mit Rodgers mithalten kann.

Für Fans seiner Stimme bleibt vorläufig seine Zweitband „Cameltoe“, sowie in Zukunft das bereits angekündigte Solo-Album. Ich jedenfalls bin jetzt schon gespannt!
